A Fast Website = Happy Customers
Of coarse there is more to it than that; good content – nice graphics blah blah! But for this quick post I want to explain website speed testing.
Two of my commonly used tools for judging website speed
- GTMetrix.com website here
- Google Insights
- Pingdom.com website here
A personal website doesn’t usually require supper fast performance but larger retail websites (Magento espesially) does require you optimise the website as much as possible to increase customer satisfaction & avoid technical issues at peak times; websites have a nasty nack of bombing out if the hardware gets pushed beyond its limits.. the is one of the main responsibilities of a website host manager – below is more information about what websites I use.
Gtmetrix, Google Insights & Pingdom all feature easy to navigate interfaces – they can help you to develop a faster and efficient website that improves website experience for you and your users – some also have the ability to compare multiple sites for speed & even to record all spread tests in a lovely timeline.
Modern studies show that if your site doesn’t load within 4 seconds users will be clicking close & return back to Google to find another site (don’t tell me you don’t). Gtmetrix, Google Insights & Pingdom tell you about the issues affecting your site and provides some suggestions to resolve.
